Job Opportunity: FIRST-YEAR APPRENTICE LOCKSMITH

Location – South Nowra, 2541

Occupation – Full-time Apprentice

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Assured Locksmiths is seeking a motivated and reliable First-Year Apprentice Locksmith to join our great team. If this is an interest of yours, it is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in the industry of locksmithing and security.

 

As you work, you will learn and gain hands-on experience with our expert locksmiths across all aspects of the trade including residential, commercial, automotive and electronic security systems, as well as earning a wage and working towards the completion of a Cert III in Locksmithing done through off the job training.

 

WHAT’S INVOLVED IN LOCKSMITHING:

As you complete your apprenticeship as a locksmith, you will learn to:

- Install, repair and maintain locks and security systems for houses, businesses and vehicles

- Cut and program keys (including automotive transponders and restricted systems)

- Re-key and master-key systems

- Open locks and safes using non-destructive methods

- Work with electronic access control systems and safes

- Provide emergency lockout services

- Use a variety of hand tools, machines and electronic devices

- Learn to read lock charts, plans and specifications

- Understand and apply current security regulations

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

- Strong interest in locksmithing and security

- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Manual proficiency and good hand-eye coordination

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Driver’s license and reliable transport is preferred but not required

- Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain)

- Willingness to undertake a4 year apprenticeship and attend formal training
